What a match! Brisbane Roar II ran away with a 2-0 victory over St George Willawong at St George's Park tonight, in a game that had plenty of excitement!
The Roar II showed a really focused approach from the opening whistle. They controlled possession for much of the first half and kept their attacks compact. A brilliant goal by I. Ozzi in the 62nd minute was a real turning point, followed by a lovely strike by D. Russell in the 22nd minute, putting them firmly in control.
St George Willawong, despite some good moments, couldn't find a way through the Roar II defense. Their game plan didn't seem to really work tonight. The Roar's defense also played exceptionally well, limiting the home side's attempts on goal.
The most exciting moment of the game, besides the goals, was definitely when Roar's midfielder, A. Smith, almost scored a beauty in the 36th minute. He put a fantastic shot just wide of the net. St George Willawong fans, while hopeful, had to wait to see their team create more.
All in all, it was a fantastic match, showing a strong showing from the away team. The roaring support was incredible. Congratulations to Brisbane Roar II on a well-deserved victory! Let's hope next time we see these two teams face each other the energy will be even more exciting!
