What a game! CS Herediano and Puntarenas FC battled to a 1-1 draw in a match full of drama, late substitutions, and controversial cards.
The first half was a cagey affair with Herediano taking the lead in the 30th minute. A well-placed shot by a Herediano player, put them ahead. Puntarenas responded brilliantly, though, equalising in the 60th minute when Montenegro scored.
The second half was an absolute rollercoaster. Puntarenas had some moments of real dominance, but a mix of substitutions, red and yellow cards (including a controversial red card for Puntarenas's Williams), really kept things unpredictable.
The most exciting moments undoubtedly came in the closing stages. Both sides threw everything at each other, pushing their substitutions to their limits, trying to find the winner. Puntarenas almost snatched victory in the final minutes when one of their substitutes nearly scored from a quick counter attack, but some fantastic defending kept it out.
Both teams had different approaches. Herediano seemed to focus on a more measured attack, while Puntarenas played with a very attacking style, which at times seemed to be more reckless. Despite a few errors from both teams, they managed to give us some excitement! Both teams fought hard and deserved this draw!
