What a match! CD Marathon absolutely dominated Lobos Upnfm tonight, winning 3-1 at Estadio Yankel Rosenthal (San Pedro Sula).
Marathon came out firing, and two goals in the first half from J. Arboleda put them in a commanding position. It was a whirlwind start! The second half saw more of the same, with B. Johnson adding a third goal to seal the victory. Lobos Upnfm managed to pull one back in the dying moments, through A. Meléndez, but it was too little, too late.
Both teams had their moments, but Marathon's relentless pressing and clinical finishing proved too much for Lobos. Marathon looked focused on winning from the kickoff; their strategy was clear: secure early possession and maintain control. Lobos, on the other hand, played a more defensive style, trying to counter-attack.
The game was full of energy and excitement! The most electrifying moment, of course, was Arboleda's double in the first half, putting Marathon firmly in the driving seat. The late goal from Lobos Upnfm provided a spark, but Marathon's overall dominance ensured a victory.
It was a fantastic display from CD Marathon; their approach paid off handsomely. Lobos Upnfm will need to regroup, but they'll learn a lot from this match. A thrilling game to watch!
